Test flight of a flying car that “transforms” like Transformers

The flying car launched by Slovakian flying car maker Klein Vision completed a test flight in just over half an hour on June 28. This flying car is equipped with wings that can be opened and folded, just press a button to instantly transform the flying car into a sports car, just like the “Transformers”.

On June 30, Klein Vision announced the news that this flying car called Aircar had flown from the town of Nitri in Slovakia to the capital Bratislava in that country with a time of 35 minutes.

Currently, Aircar has carried out 40 hours of flight tests, this car is equipped with a 160 horsepower BMW engine with a maximum flight speed of 190 km / h. It must use the runway to take off, but cannot take off and land vertically like a helicopter.

When the driver presses the button, the Aircar folds the fenders and retracts the tail to “transform” into a sports car in less than 3 minutes.

After the Aircar landed at Bratislava Airport and transformed into a sports car, Klein Vision CEO Stefan Klein and co-founder Anton Zajac drove it to the city.

“Aircar is no longer a concept but has turned science fiction into reality,” Anton said in a press release.

Klein Vision said he is currently building a second model using a 300 horsepower engine, with a maximum flight speed of 300 km / h and a range of 1,000 km.

In addition to the current 2-seater flying car, the company also plans to research and build a 3 or 4-seater model as well as a twin-engine version that can travel around the country.

Although flying cars have safety and reliability hurdles to overcome, a growing number of companies around the world are investing in research and development in this area, including companies like Toyota in Japan and Hyundai in Korea.

Flying cars can operate in tight spaces and also require management rules when approaching drones or traditional planes. Drafting and approval of relevant regulations can take several years.
